Van Vida Israel's custom chopped Ford Econoline van

This feature is a long time coming, it is kind of a belated birthday present to Israel who just turned 50. He is a long time vanner who has had several vans over the many years, he came close to selling this one, but took a renewed interest in it that we can all now apreciate.
Most of these shots have been taken in the past month and will give you a great idea of the work that has been done recently on the interior to give it a very updated look.
Big thanks to Israel for the help with this feature !

Here's Israel's description:

The Van is 1978 Ford Short wheelbase,it was chopped 8 inches ,door handles removed ,& one half rear doors in 1981(3 year old van) by the original owner Terry Caldwell in Burlington Iowa. I am the second owner(I bought it in 1993) the paint & mural were done in 1993. The mural on back and sides shows 9 of my previous vans, this one being #10. The vinyl roof & sunroof were added in 2000,the roof was painted & in good shape but I like vinyl.
The paint is the original factory color,(calapso coral) also added are 2 molded in Honda louvers in the hood. The van in 78 had round headlites but we changed them to rectangular & also has 4 parking lites & a tube grille, the rear taillites are done in stained glass, there is glass etching on the windshield & the Sunroof. The sidepipes are not functional at this time.
The stereo system is a Pioneer CD player, with amp, crossover, 4 6x9 Cerwin-Vega speakers & one 10 inch sub-woofer mounted in the back wall.
The front suspension has compressed coil springs and the rear has a C-notched frame & the rear axle flipped to the top of the leaf springs & air shocks added so I can pull our camper. The wheels are 15X7 Supreme Wire Wheels with 235/60 x 15 inch tires. This is the fourth set of wheels & tires I have had on the van, not sure what the 5th set will be.
The interior was redone in 2003 by Rick Kenney in Kansas City,he is a member of 3 Trails Van Club. He sculptured in some flames, vans, numbers & letters into the doors ,door steps ,walls & ceiling in a tweed type material which is showing up in a lot of vehicles now.
The drive train is stock except for the headers & chrome accessories,it had 47,000 miles on it in 1993 when I bought, now has 77,000 (ten years later) that averages about 3,000 miles a year going to vannins, shows, parades so I don't want to disturb inside of engine just yet.
The van was in Orielly's Lowrider Magazine in 1995 and in the readers section of Lowrider magazine also that year.
Thanks, Israel & Alice
