Forest Nymph 2000 GMC Safari
Owner: Cindy-Lou Hyde
Custom Paint: Tom Stack
Hardwood Floor: Jeff Hyde
My Husband, Jeff and I are proud
members of Pikes Peak Van Association of Colorado Springs,
Co. He for the last 20 years and I for 15. My husband took me
to my first run and swore I hated it, much to his surprise and
mine I fell in love. Attending many runs in his "74"
full size, custom GMC, always made me long for one of my own.
Something more appropriate to me, my personality, and more becoming
to the women of vanning. My first handle was "The Nymph"
and after marrying the love of my life, "Dr. Jekyll"
I became none other than "Mrs. Hyde" A.K.A. "Dr
Jekyll & Mrs. Hyde" As life would have it, and a job
that allowed me more vacation than my better half, we bought
my first van, a 96 Astro. To make a very long story short, it
was a stable pony and never wanted to leave home. After our last
adventure with it, in July of 2001, I swore I'd never take it
to another event, and didn'! t. August of 2001 I bought what
now is The Forest Nymph. She was solid black and beautiful, and
fit in my garage high top and all , this allowing for custom
paint to be put on it. At a party of fellow P.P.V.A. member "Tank"
who had recently had his vans painted by Tom, he asked me if
I knew what I wanted to have painted on it, I said "Yes,
I've always known". So off to Tom I went and in Jan. of
2002, The Nymph was born. Jeffrey put the octagon shaped hardwood
floor in, in June of 2003. And as with all custom vans, she is
a work in progress. Last year alone I put in more than 14,000
van event miles, so keep your eyes on the little black mini from
Colorado, you never know which event she will flutter into? |
