Chevrolet introduced the Corvan in 1961
as a direct competitor to the VW van, with a larger more powerful
rear engine. It came in a variety of versions, the panel version,
window van (Greenbrier) and even a pickup (Rampside). However
the Corvans never could compete with the Econolines introduced
at the same time and production was stopped completely in 1965.
The Chevy / GMC vans were introduced in 1964, with engine placement
similar to the Econoline. In 1967 they changed the styling slightly.
The forward control Chevy/GMC vans were fazed out in 1970.
