The National Truck-In is the Superbowl of vanning. It is the largest custom van event on the planet. To win the Best of Show at the Nationals is acknowledging that you built have one of the top custom vans in the world. Previous to 2007 the Best of Show award was unlimited. There were 2 four time award winners and multiple 2 time winners. To encourage vanners to build vans to the highest levels the National Truck-In Board decided that the Best of Show award would be limited to 2 years unless there was a major transfornmation done to the van. Best of the Best award

In 2007 it was decided to make the playing field more even, the Best of Show award would only be given to a van 2 years, unless there was a major transformation to the van.

The Greg of Akron Flying Eagle Award

In 2007 this new award was given for the first time for the Best custom van first time shown at the National Truck-In. The award is in honour of Greg of Akron, one of the original custom van artists who passed away in 2007.
