Showtrux.com custom vans and panel trucks

 March 17 Donut Derelict Cruise

The Donut Derelict Cruise is something every car/truck enthusiast should see at some point. The variety of vehicles there is amazing. Many of us got to see it for the first time last year when we were in Anaheim for the CofC on the insistence of Rick Finn who brought his kool 53 panel to our show in Anaheim. Little did we know he was one of the founders of this great event. It was a very sad day when I got an email from his brother letting me know tht Rick had passed away last September. We only knew each other for a short while but I knew I had made a lifelong friend and was really hoping to see him on this trip that was planned last February. Another friend of his Bob Ryder just wrote a full article in the latest Truckin' on Rick, it is a must read. It was very fitting that we had this gathering on St Patrick's day, Rick was a proud Irishman.

We had a very good gathering of vans, 16 in all counting the two 23 window VWs. I was there for 3 hours and it went by in a flash. I did get a chance to speak to most of the vanners there but unfortunately did not get pictures of the early Chevies (this by no means was done intentionaly). I will link and borrow pictures from the other vanners there like Billo, Brad, Vanographer and Vince once I get a chance and elaborate a bit more.
